Former UFC Middleweight Champion Luke Rockhold is looking to correct his loss to the current champion, belt or no belt.
In an interview with Ariel Helwani via The MMA Hour podcast, Rockhold has explained what he wants to do moving forward of his recent knee injury and his loss to champion Michael Bisping at UFC 199 last June.
“I think Bisping is a coward. He’s running and trying to look for irrelevant fights and I think ‘Jacare’ is right where he was before I left.” Rockhold explained when asked about the current status of the middleweight division.
Doubling down on Bisping, Rockhold showed that he is very interested in meeting “The Count” inside the octagon again.
“Of course, I want Bisping. There is no way around it. I’m not going to give that up. That one doesn’t sit well with me. I’m going to have to go out and find him, no matter title or no title. I will not let that pass. I will hunt that man down and I will finish that, for sure. If he does lose, I’ll avoid the title and go straight for him.” Rockhold continued. “I’m not letting that man squeak by and keep running his mouth, not going to happen.”
Middleweight champion Michael “The Count” Bisping is currently eyeing a bout with now returned fighter Georges St-Pierre, though a bout with No. 1 contender Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza seems like the next logical bout for the champion.
