A wave of UFC roster cuts has once again come down the pipe, this time though it’s impacted some top ranked talent.
UFC fighters Lorenz Larkin, Misha Cirkunov, and Rick Story have all been removed from the UFC rankings, which suggests all three are no longer in the promotion.
Larkin was one of the top 10 welterweights in the UFC before being removed from the rankings. He is coming off a TKO victory over Neil Magny in August at UFC 202. In May, Larkin won a split decision against Jorge Masvidal. Magny is currently ranked no. 7 in the division, while Masvidal is ranked no. 5.
Cirkunov is on an eight-fight win streak and was one of the top prospects in the UFC light heavyweight division. He was ranked in the top 10 of his weight class following a submission win over Nikita Krylov in December at UFC 206.
Story is coming off a loss to Donald Cerrone in August. However, he won his two previous fights winning decisions against Tarec Saffiedine and Gunnar Nelson. Saffiedine is ranked no. 11 in the division, while Nelson is ranked at no. 9.
Misha Cirkunov, Lorenz Larkin & Rick Story have been removed from latest UFC rankings. I'm told none are currently under UFC contract.
