The highly anticipated UFC 209 card, which features two pivotal title fights, has just taken a blow as UFC heavyweight Todd Duffee has withdrawn from his fight with Mark Godbeer. No reason has been given for why Duffee will be unable to fight on March 4th, but Godbeer jumped on his Twitter account to break the news earlier.
Both fighters were trying to bounce back from stoppage losses during their last octagon appearances and while Godbeer says he’s hopeful to remain on the card, no replacement opponent has been named as of yet.
His full social media post and statement on the situation can be seen below.

“A quick update, unfortunately I have woke to the news that Todd Duffee is out of our scheduled bout at UFC 209 for reasons yet to be disclosed. Me and my management team are working alongside UFC matchmakers to find a replacement. We have reached out to a replacement so just waiting on a reply. Either way I will be fighting at UFC 209. I have trained harder than ever before covering all areas so I will fight who they have to offer. Real fighters fight regardless.”
