World Series of Fighting has officially lost one of its biggest stars. On Wednesday, it was revealed WSOF Middleweight and Light Heavyweight Champion David Branch has signed a multi-fight deal with the UFC.
MMAfighting reports Branch’s first fight in the UFC is not yet booked but he is expecting to fight sometime in May.
Branch is currently on a 10-fight win streak, which started as the first WSOF event in 2012.
During his WSOF tenure, Branch won the inaugural WSOF middleweight and light heavyweight titles. He defended his middleweight title on three occasions and defended his light heavyweight title twice.
Branch is coming off a submission win over Louis Taylor on New Year’s Eve. His win streak also includes notable wins over Dustin Jacoby, Jesse Taylor, Clifford Starks, Vinny Magalhaes, and former UFC title challenger Yushin Okami.
Before joining WSOF, Branch was a Bellator and UFC veteran. Branch is unbeaten in Bellator with two wins. He currently has a UFC record of 2-2. Branch has not fought in the UFC since 2011.
