No. 2 ranked lightweight Tony Ferguson has been talking about lightweight champion Conor McGregor as of late, and he’s not a fan.
In anticipation of the up coming interim lightweight title fight between Tony Ferguson and Khabib Nurmagomedov, Ferguson has been giving the current lightweight champion an earful.
While Ferguson has dished it out in the past, the contender most recently talked about the champion at the media conference call for UFC 209.
Ferguson told the Las Vegas Review-Journal during the conference, “He’s trying to avoid me by going over to boxing. I honestly couldn’t care less. This is a man’s sport we play.”
“I’ve been putting in my my work and my effort, and Khabib and me are going to have this war. Whatever Conor does, I gave him a pass. I don’t have to talk too much ****. He’s got a kid coming up. I told him, go spend some of that money, dude. Go do what you’ve got to do and earn that little thing that you’ve got, and then come back when you’re ready to be a man.”
Tony Ferguson and Khabib Nurmagomedov are set to fight for the interim lightweight title in the co-main event at UFC 209 in March.
