Khabib Claims That McGregor vs. Alvarez Title Fight Was FIXED

Khabib “The Eagle” Nurmagomedov is finally getting his shot at UFC gold when he meets Tony Ferguson this Saturday night March 4th for the interim lightweight title at UFC 209.  When speaking to the media this week, Khabib said he considers his fight with Ferguson for the real 155 lb belt, and doesn’t even consider Conor the champion. In fact, he thinks the finish of the Alvarez vs. McGregor fight looked staged.

“100 per cent I think this is real title fight. I don’t care about him [Conor McGregor], you guys know his Uncle Dana give him a gift. He jumped over all contenders and he fought for the title. I do not understand this fight [Eddie Alvarez vs. Conor McGregor], he catch him a few times and he falls down—to me this is a fake fight.”

When asked to comment further, Nurmagomedov didn’t shy away from his opinion on the UFC 205 main event between McGregor and Alvarez this past November.

“I no understand this fight you know, UFC give him this fight like seven, six weeks before the fight,” Nurmagomedov said. “He [Conor McGregor] catches him a few times and he [Eddie Alvarez] falls down. I do not understand—a lot of people have a lot of questions about this fight.
