Mackenzie Dern returns to the cage tonight night at Legacy Fighting Alliance where she will meet Katherine Roy. Dern, a strawweight, reportedly could not make 115 pounds on the eve of fight night and her opponent has agreed to let her fight at a catchweight limit of 120 pounds. Dern will also be forced to forfeit her purse. Roy’s manager updated the situation below on his social media page:
@arielhelwani 9:20am Dern is not going to make 115lbs. We agree to catch of 120 plus 20% misses at 121.8 then makes on 120 on 2nd attempt

Dern, however, says that she never officially missed weight and that her camp had requested a change to the 120 weight limit. Roy’s camp agreed, and Dern apparently never officially missed weight. She weighed in at 120 pounds on her second attempt. Dern explained the entire ordeal in the comment section of one of her latest images on Instagram. She said:
“My team asked for a catch weight, she accepted there was no missed weight, made weight at 120 which was the catch weight. So excited to fight tomorrow!”
