The rivalry between former UFC Middleweight Champion Luke Rockhold and former UFC Heavyweight Champion Fabricio Werdum just got a lot more interesting.
Rockhold has been lobbying with officials in the Ultimate Fighting Championship offices to get a shot at making the move to heavyweight just so he can challenge Werdum to a fight to squash their beef. The rivalry all kicked off when Werdum mentioned he was happy that Rockhold had lost the belt to Michael Bisping at “UFC 199”, going as far to say he popped a bottle of champagne to celebrate the occurrence. Rockhold, currently stuck in the stacked middleweight division, asked officials to square off with Werdum but top contender Francis Ngannou is having none of that.
Ngannou took to social media to try and cut off Rockhold’s momentum, hoping to convince the matchmakers that he deserves a shot at Werdum next:
