Currently, Rampage Jackson is the only fighter contractually obligated to both Bellator and the UFC.
The action-film crossover star headlines tonight’s Bellator 175 event, yet his next fight must be with the UFC.
Rampage originally left the Bellator MMA promotion and went back to the UFC. Then Bellator’s legal team got involved and ushered him back to their promotion. Oddly enough, the UFC’s contract with Rampage still holds up though, and as a result, Rampage will be back under the UFC banner next time we see him.
Ariel revealed the sticky situation via twitter:
Correct. That's according to both Rampage and Coker. UFC didn't respond when I asked for comment. He signed a deal w/ them at the end of '14 https://t.co/ARZKFGhnsn
