With “The Eagle” having such a complicated history of missing fights and having recently been forced to miss UFC 209, rumors have begun to spread that the talented lightweight may be facing a terrible medical condition.
UFC lightweight Khabib Nurmagomedov has had complications in five fights within his career. Most recently, the fighter was rushed to the hospital for weight management issues. The incident forced Nurmagomedov to miss weigh-ins for UFC 209, leaving Tony Ferguson without an opponent and the promotion without a co-main event.
Following the incident, head coach Javier Mendez has claimed that early retirement may be in Nurmagomedov’s future.
Now, a recent rumor has suggested that Nurmagomedov may be having weight management issues due to a rare medical condition known as Budd-Chiari syndrome.
No official statement has yet confirmed this rumor.
