There was a time when former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey could do no wrong. With a championship strapped around her waist and an undefeated record to her name, Rousey’s rise to mainstream popularity felt like it happened overnight just before the Bethe Correia fight. That would be her last victory, however, as her fall from grace started when she was brutally knocked out by Holly Holm.
Rousey took a year off from action and stayed away from the cameras, hoping the mystery surrounding her return would create enough hype for her. While she wasn’t wrong, she could not capitalize on it when she challenged Amanda Nunes for the championship at “UFC 207”. After years of sitting in the top of the UFC’s women’s bantamweight rankings, Rousey’s name has started to slip further and further down the card.
In the latest official UFC rankings, Rousey dropped from second to third, now ranked below Valentina Shevchenko and Julianna Pena. Just below Ronda now are the likes of Holly Holm and Raquel Pennington who round out the top five, both of whom have been more active than Rousey. Could you see the media members rankings Rousey outside of the top five within two months?
