“The California Kid” Urijah Faber received a hero’s welcome when he made his way down to the octagon at “UFC on Fox 22” where he defeated Brad Pickett in the final fight of his career. Faber was emotional after the event, fighting in the Golden 1 Center which happens to be in his hometown of Sacramento, California.
Even though Faber received a perfect send off and is for all intents and purposes retired, United States Anti-Doping Agency still showed up to his house recently.
Fighters who officially retire are no longer listed as active fighters, which means USADA is not permitted to randomly test them. The fact that USADA paid Faber a visit after his retirement bout could mean that he simply did not officially inform them of his intentions:
Very quiet week for USADA testing in the UFC. Only 23 athletes tested (7 days up to 22nd March)
