“The California Kid” Urijah Faber had as good of a send-off for a retirement fight as any other fighter in Ultimate Fighting Championship history. Faber got his hands raised in victory in his hometown of Sacramento, California after defeating Brad “One Punch” Pickett by way of unanimous decision. While Faber’s presence is still felt inside the octagon whenever a Team Alpha Male fighter graces the card, the urge for Faber to compete has not left his body.
Faber will once again be stepping into the cage, but not under the UFC banner or mixed martial arts at all, for that matter. Submission Underground will host Faber’s return to action when he steps onto the mats to square off with Paulo Miyao. Miyao, a black-belt under Cicero Costha, is one of the more decorated grapplers on the circuit today.
Faber will not be Miyao’s first opponent who has achieved a lot in the mixed martial arts world. Miyao recently grappled with Jon Fitch in a bout that went to a draw. Who do you think will walk out of the Submission Underground cage with their hands raised in victory on May 14, 2017? Share your thoughts and make your predictions in the comment section below.
