Ultimate Fighting Championship may have lost one of their biggest stars when Ronda Rousey suffered her second vicious knockout loss in a row. Fans had questioned whether or not the fighter would return after losing for the first time in such devastating fashion at “UFC 193”, but fans were shocked to hear she would be heading right back into the octagon to challenge for the title.
In the weeks leading up to the fight, fans were left scratching their heads as to how Rousey actually looked because they had not seen any footage of her whatsoever. It didn’t matter if it was an interview or training footage; Rousey had not graced the camera’s airwaves in a great deal of time at that point.
Former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Chuck Liddell knows a thing or two about the fight business and questioned UFC’s decision to send her straight to the wolves at “UFC 207”. Hear what Liddell had to say about the scrap in below:
“You know, I think they did her a disservice having her go [against Amanda Nunes], her first fight back after being knocked out AND taking the knockout so well. That’s one thing, with [Jose] Aldo when he got knocked out by [Conor] McGregor, he wanted to fight him that day in the back room! They put [Ronda] out there with a girl that’s not only a fast starter, but fast starter with heavy hands. Give her a rest. Warm her back up.”
Think we’ll ever see Ronda back inside the octagon?
