Ultimate Fighting Championship mega-star Conor McGregor may have the lightweight championship strapped around his waist, but that doesn’t mean he’s going to defend it anytime soon. “The Notorious” has been working on inking a deal with Floyd Mayweather Jr. that would push both fighters’ stock into the stratosphere.
McGregor has been sitting on the sidelines since defeating Eddie Alvarez for the lightweight championship at “UFC 205” in Madison Square Garden soaking in all the successes from his hard work. He has made his way back to the training room and reports of McGregor’s training camp kicking off for Floyd are circulating.
Perhaps the biggest roadblock in this fight has removed itself from the equation. UFC President Dana White was a thorn in the side of these negotiations, saying that the fight would never happen. Just recently, however, White has expressed interest in helping getting the job done.
McGregor should have every reason to be happy with himself as he has quickly become one of the most popular athletes in the world today. McGregor recently took to social media to show off just how happy he is and the “Champ Champ” is all smiles:
Should Conor be all smiles considering he could be in some trouble?
