Robbie Lawler’s path to the top of the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s welterweight division was a quiet one, but his reign on top is what brought everybody back to the weight-class that had suffered since Georges St-Pierre’s retirement in 2013.
Lawler’s championship victory over Johny “Big Rig” Hendricks showed the world that he is willing to push through any type of offense, whether it be grappling or strikes, to do what he needs to do in order to win or keep the championship. Robbie Lawler is expected to make his return to the octagon at “UFC 213” this summer where he will collide with Donald Cerrone. Both fighters are looking to rebound from unexpected losses and get one step closer to securing an ever-elusive shot at the gold.
