Someone who started out being the biggest obstacle in getting Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather Jr. in the same ring has somehow become a mouthpiece providing updates for negotiations between the two mega-stars. UFC President Dana White has changed his tune drastically in the last year about the fight, recently saying he will not be blocking McGregor from stepping into the squared circle.
Even though fans and fighters alike predicted that this fight would never happen, it appears as if McGregor and Mayweather are closer than ever to signing a deal. Despite being closer than they ever have been before, White wants the world to know that they are still not even close to getting the fight done.
Both McGregor and Mayweather have been touring the world and other than a brief mention of it from McGregor while he was in Las Vegas, not a peep has come out of either camp about the super fight getting materialized.
If McGregor and Mayweather choose to not sign the deal, it is likely that the boxer will remain in retirement while McGregor will make his first defense of the lightweight championship. Watch White break it down in the video below:
