Dana White Reveals What Made Him Change His Mind About WMMA In The UFC

Ultimate Fighting Championship made their way to Buffalo, New York for what turned out to be a controversial pay-per-view. “UFC 210” was marred with drama from early weigh-ins on the eve of fight night all the way to the main event where Anthony “Rumble” Johnson retired. The event is in the past, and UFC President Dana White made his way on stage to address the media after such an exhausting night.

Even though it turned out to be an exciting event, there was one shining light for Dana throughout the entire card and it was the fact that Cynthia Calvillo dominated in her fight with Pearl Gonzalez and showed the world the personality that made White such a big fan of hers.

When Calvillo made her way onto the stage, sitting next to Dana, the boss explained to the media exactly what he saw in the Team Alpha Male standout. He opened up about his first meetings with certain UFC stars, comparing her to the likes of Conor McGregor and Ronda Rousey before veering off in a Rousey story.

White opened up about the exact moment he decided to go forward with women’s mixed martial arts after saying for years he would never include it. He said, “With Ronda Rousey I had a forty-five-minute meeting with her and decided to do women’s [mixed martial arts].” Watch him say it in the clip below:
