Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather Jr. have both been teasing a cross-sport super fight for over a year now and even though it seemed like a pipe dream a year ago, it may actually happen now. While there are still several hurdles for them to jump over in order to make this fight happen, one of the biggest hurdles removed itself from the equation when UFC President Dana White said he wanted this fight to happen.
Ever since White mentioned he would allow McGregor to throw down in the squared circle with Mayweather Jr., both fighters have fallen silent about the fight. McGregor has made waves in Liverpool with his recent appearances while Mayweather has simply been touring the world, looking to build his brand.
One of the biggest hurdles that remain is the payday for both fighters who feel like they should earn a majority of the payout. Without McGregor, Mayweather would not be considering coming out of retirement. If it wasn’t for Mayweather, there would not be a massive platform for McGregor to prove himself as one of the best fighters in any sport, period.
Both fighters will put their well-being on the line like they have done so many times in the past and will likely receive some of the biggest payouts of their careers. They are already strapped with cash as both men tend to show off how much money they have on social media often. Check out the comparison of both men holding up bags of money on their own jet:
