Throwback To An Almost Unrecognizable Conor McGregor Before He Fought Siver At Featherweight, video below article.
Conor McGregor became one of the biggest stars the sport of mixed martial arts has ever seen seemingly overnight. While the cameras and spotlights were not on him in his years leading up to his octagon debut, he climbed the ranks quicker than any fighter has before him and his gift of gab is second to none.
Coming fresh off a win over Dustin Poirier in Las Vegas, Nevada, McGregor made his way to Boston, Massachusetts to square off with the always-tough Dennis Siver in a featherweight contest. McGregor wanted to prove he was a viable challenger at that point in his career so he made it a point to step onto the scales at championship weight of 145 pounds.
When he stepped into the octagon with Siver, it became apparently right away that McGregor was already in a league of his own. His fellow Irishmen in Boston cheered McGregor on as he proceeded to tear through his competition yet again, this time finishing Siver in the second round.
Before the fight, McGregor took some time away from his busy schedule to speak with Fox Sports 1 about his upcoming fight. He even threw out a message for then-champion Jose Aldo. Check it out in its entirety below:
