UFC on FOX 24 went down tonight, with Demetrious Johnson making his tenth title defense against Wilson Reis in the night’s main event. The Sprint Center crowd roared for Johnson’s record meeting title defense, but the main event was not the only fight to get the Kansas City crowds attention.
Strawweight Rose “Thug” Namajunas had a dominant performance over Michelle “Karate Hottie” Waterson during the night’s event. Sinking in a rear-naked choke submission victory in the second round, Namajunas made her next step towards a title shot.
Rose Namajunas was coming off of a loss to Karolina Kowalkiewicz at UFC 201, while Waterson has been dethroned from her winning streak. “Karate Hottie” was riding a victory over Paige “12 Gauge” VanZant at UFC on FOX 22.
