Almost every athlete who gets into the sport of mixed martial arts has the goal of one day making it to the Ultimate Fighting Championship. To make anything close to a constant flow of money, UFC is the only reliable fight league that runs shows on a consistent enough basis to pay their fighters more regular than any other promotion out there.
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu grappling ace turned fighter Mackenzie Dern has taken the regional MMA scene by storm. She is currently riding a three fight win-streak that saw her dominate Kenia Rosas, Montana Stewart, and most recently Katherine Roy.
UFC President Dana White made it no secret when he revealed that the UFC had not only had an eye on her, but he commented on the possibility of hiring her. He said, “We’ve been checking her out. She’s a little bad ass. You never know how good somebody’s going to be until they get in there and start fighting the best in the world.”
It appears as if she has already inked a deal with the UFC, however, much similar to the deal that Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino has MMA Fighting reports. “Cyborg” signed a contract with a bit of a salary bump where she could fight in either Invicta FC or UFC. Do you think fast-tracking Dern to the octagon is the wrong choice?
