Conor McGregor Issues Statement Following Signing Of Floyd Fight Contract

It’s official, UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor has agreed to terms to fight Floyd “Money” Mayweather in a boxing match.

After confirming he had agreed to the fight, McGregor gave a statement to TheMacLife.com.

It is an honour to sign this record breaking deal alongside my partners Zuffa LLC, The Ultimate Fighting Championship and Paradigm Sports Management,” McGregor said.

“The first, and most important part of this historic contract has now officially been signed off on. Congratulations to all parties involved. We now await Al Haymon and his boxer’s signature in the coming days.”

UFC President Dana White said he planned on talking to Al Haymon, Mayweather’s advisor, this week in order to make a deal with Mayweather and make the fight official.

Earlier this year, McGregor said he thought the boxing match would take place either at the end of the year or early in 2018. White has said he would like the fight to happen as early as September.
