Female Fighters React To The UFC’s New 125 Pound Division

On Wednesday, the UFC released a press release announcing they were going to begin holding fights in the women’s flyweight division.

The press release said the next season of The Ultimate Fighter would consist of women fighting at 125 pounds and the winner of the tournament would become the first ever UFC women’s flyweight champion.

However, UFC President Dana White has since said the press release was sent out by mistake, and the UFC has yet to decide whether or not they are going to add a fourth women’s division.

Despite no official word on the future of a women’s flyweight division, UFC fighters in both the women’s strawweight and bantamweight division shared their excitement over the possibility of a new weight class.
