UFC strawweight Cortney Casey has tested positive for elevated levels of testosterone.
She was tested in-competition by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. As a result, her win in Dallas, at UFC 211, has been overturned to a no-contest and she has been suspended for three months by the TDLR.
MMA Fighting was the first to report Casey’s failed test after receiving an open records request.
At UFC 211, Casey picked up the biggest win of her MMA career when she won a decision against former World Series of Fighting champion Jessica Aguilar.
The United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA), the official anti-doping partner of the UFC, has yet to announce if they will be taking any action against Casey.
According to Jeff Novitzky, the UFC vice president of health and performance, the UFC has yet to be informed by USADA on Casey failing a drug test.
“We have not been informed by USADA of anything regarding a potential anti-doping policy violation for Cortney Casey,” Novitzky told MMA Fighting. “No positive tests, no suspicion of anything — now or in the past. USADA has not been in contact with us about anything at all related to that.”
