The 2017 UFC fighter summit did not go without its drama. Former Invicta FC featherweight champion Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino had a confrontation with UFC strawweight Angela Magana at the event. The police were called by the UFC after Magana was struck by “Cyborg.”
Angela Magana then elected to press charges against the former Invicta FC featherweight champion. Now, fighters and fans are beginning to provide their opinions on the incident.
Over Facebook, mixed martial arts veteran and former UFC competitor Gabriel Ruediger stated,
“If you talk trash and then get hit and THEN press charges, you can’t call yourself a fighter.
As fighters we have an obligation to hold ourselves to a higher standard. There is no need to disrespect someone. If you want to actually do something and not just talk about it, confront the person and say your piece. I live by not writing things on the internet that I wouldn’t say to someone’s face. If you’re a fighter, if you write something, you should not only expect something to happen, you should WANT something to happen.”
UFC fighter Cole Escovedo also stated,
“Is this the next generation of fighters? Talk (expletive) , get hit, call the cops? Did I miss something?”

@timsylviamma Cyborg slapped her up after she ran her mouth on the internet. Then she called the police. That's not a real fighter. Who calls police? lol
