The UFC returned to Stockholm, Sweden for a special Sunday edition of UFC Fight Night.
In the main event, Sweden’s own Alexander Gustafsson fights fellow former title challenger Glover Teixeira.
Before the pivotal light heavyweight fight, the UFC once again stacked the card with numerous intriguing matchups.
In the UFC Fight Pass headliner, welterweights squared off as Darren Till fought Jessin Ayari.
Ayari was the first fighter to throw a strike, but both fighters were hesitant to engage. Eventually, Till started opening up and began landing hard strikes that back his opponent back to the fence. Till later got Ayari to the ground, but he quickly got back to his feet. The round ended with both fighters choosing their strikes wisely.
Both fighters threw strikes to start the second round. Till rocked Ayari with a right hand and got him to the ground. Ayari then attempted an armbar but Till escaped. Till managed to maintain top position. Ayari kicked Till off of him and got to his feet. On the feet, Till rocked Ayari again. Ayari then went for a takedown, but Till grabbed the cage to stay on his feet. Both fighters then began landing powerful strikes. Till once again dropped Ayari with a punch. Till got on top of his opponent and began landing vicious ground-and-pound. The round ended with Till allowing Ayari to stand up.
Ayari began the final round aggressively. However, Till stayed patient and landed clean strikes. Till began landing devastating kicks to Ayari’s head and body Ayari tried to secure a clinch or takedown, but Till would throw him off. In the final minute of the fight, Till accidentally poked Ayari in the eye. The fight ended with both fighters exchanging blows.
