As time goes on, it seems less likely UFC Bantamweight Champion Cody Garbrandt will defend his title in July.
This week, Garbrant is in Germany receiving stem-cell treatment in order to help him with a back injury.
According to Ariel Helwani, of MMA Fighting, Garbrandt is still receiving the treatment and won’t be done until the end of the week.
Gabrandt is scheduled to defend his title against former UFC Bantamweight Champion TJ Dillashaw on July 8 at UFC 213.
However, even if the stem-cell treatment works, Garbrandt is still not training. With the fight less than two months away, the fight is in jeopardy regardless.
We should know in the near future whether or not the fight will take place. Dillashaw has already begun campaigning for other fights for UFC 213.
Dillashaw has recently challenged UFC Flyweight Champion Demetrious Johnson as a replacement for Garbrandt.
Garbrandt is currently in Germany getting treatment on his back. Three days straight and two days left. UFC 213 is less than 2 months away.
