On Sunday, Clay Guida showed off some innovative offense when he hit his opponent with a scorpion kick.
This rarely seen striking technique, which can be seen in the video below, was used during Guida’s return fight to the lightweight division.
At a UFC Fight Night event in Oklahoma City, Guida fought lightweight prospect Erik Koch. In the end, Guida earned a unanimous decision victory and is once again a contender at 155 pounds.
Guida discussed his win, and his scorpion kick, during a recent episode of Stud Radio.
“He looks upset right there,” Guida jokingly said about Koch as he watched him getting hit by the scorpion kick.
“It looks like I hit me with the side of my knee. I can’t tell.”
Guida went on to talk about the technique and how other fighters from Team Alpha Male may use the kick in their upcoming fights.
“Some of our lengthier guys can put that to good use and try to put some different variations on it,” Guida said.
