Forbes Reveals How Much Money Conor McGregor Made In 2016, Names Him In Their Top 25

UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor is among the top 25 highest paid athletes in the world.

According to Forbes, McGregor was the highest paid combat sports star in the world.

In 2016, McGregor made $34 million. He made $27 million from just the UFC alone.

McGregor fought three times in 2016. He fought in two back-to-back fights against Nate Diaz. He lost their first meeting in March and won the rematch in August. In his last fight, in November, McGregor won the UFC lightweight title by knocking out Eddie Alvarez.

According to Forbes, McGregor is tied for the 24th highest paid athlete in the world. He shares his spot with soccer star Gareth Bale.

McGregor is currently working on a deal to make his debut in the sport of boxing. He expected to fight all-time boxing great Floyd “Money” Mayweather.

McGregor has already agreed on a deal to fight Mayweather. UFC President Dana White is still working on a deal with the boxing legend.

If a bout between McGregor and Mayweather does take place, both athletes should be expected to be towards the top of Forbes list next year.
