Last night on FOX Sports 1, Michael Chiesa and Kevin Lee entered the cage in the night’s main event to settle a feud months in the making.
After a very public street fight at a press-conference earlier this month, fight fans were anxiously awaiting the culmination of the bout.
Instead though, last night referee Mario Yamasaki waved the fight off, for no real good reason. Chiesa was caught in a rear-naked-choke, but wasn’t asleep, and didn’t tap. Still, the referee halted the action and gave Lee the win in round 1.
It was an awwful call, one that UFC President Dana White is furious over. So is Chiesa, who can be seen above cussing out the ref, moments after the stoppage.
