Breaking: Ariel Helwani Fired From #MayMac Duties At the UFC’s Request

Ariel Helwani, one of the most recognizable journalists in the world of MMA, has been removed by Showtime Sports coverage the upcoming, MayMac event. The media tour will will have press conferences featuring mega stars Floyd “Money” Mayweather and UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor.

Helwani confirmed he won’t be working for Showtime Sports because the UFC personally requested he be pulled from the event coverage.

On Tuesday, the first press conference for Mayweather vs. McGregor will take place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.

Over the span of four days, Mayweather and McGregor are traveling to four different cities to promote what will be one of the biggest fights in combat sports history.

The first press conference is taking place in Los Angeles, while the next three will be in Toronto, Brooklyn, and London.

Ariel Helwani was scheduled to do live coverage for all the press conferences. However, as a result of the UFC’s request, that will no longer be the case.
