Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) lightweight champion Conor “Notorious” McGregor will face off against Floyd Mayweather Jr. on Aug. 26 inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. With the epic cross-promotional match up only weeks away, fighters and fans are voicing their opinions on how they believe the fight will go. Among them, MMA veteran Nick Diaz has decided to share his thoughts on the highly anticipated boxing match.
In an interview with MyMMANews, Nick Diaz explained that he believes Conor McGregor may stand a chance against Floyd Mayweather Jr. because of his experience facing Nate Diaz.
Brother to Nick Diaz, Nate Diaz faced off against Conor McGregor at UFC 196 and again at UFC 202. The fighter earned a submission victory over “Notorious” in their first match. However, Nate Diaz suffered a majority decision defeat to Conor McGregor in their rematch.
Nick Diaz told MyMMANews, “I feel like if he can hit my brother, he can probably put up somewhat of a fight with Floyd if not bring him an actual challenge.”
