UFC International Fight Week is upon us and on Friday the UFC hosted The Ultimate Fighter: Redemption Finale in Las Vegas.
The night featured an exciting lightweight battle in the main event and the crowning of a new TUF champion, but the night also featured a full night filled with exciting matchups.
A pivotal fight in the women’s strawweight division took place on the prelims as strawweight contender Tecia Torres fought Juliana Lima.
Torres opened the fight with a leg kick. Lima used Torres’ leg kicks to land a takedown. Torres used a guillotine choke to fight her way back to her feet. Once on her feet, Torres held Lima up against the cage. Lima used her strength to get her back off of the cage. Torres almost secured a takedown, but Lima used the cage to stay on her feet. Eventually, the referee separated the two fighters. Both women then began to throw kicks. Torres once again engaged in a clinch. The round ended with Torres fighting for a takedown against the cage.
Both women once again exchanged kicks to start the middle round. Lima went for a takedown but Torres reversed the position and took her back. Torres then locked in a rear-naked choke and finished the fight.
