UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones has revealed the biggest payday he has ever received from the UFC.
During a recent interview, Jones was asked what was the most he had ever been paid for a single fight.
“I got close to $7 mil for a fight,” Jones said. “It’s not quite boxing money, but I’m grateful for it.”
On Saturday, Jones regained his UFC light heavyweight title after defeating former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier in the main event. In round three, Jones landed a brutal headkick, and followed it with punches on the ground, until the referee stepped in a awarded Jones’ the knockout victory.
This was Jones second victory over his longtime rival. In 2015, Jones won a decision against Cormier and successfully defended his championship.
After his win on Saturday, Jones won back the title he never lost. Jones was stripped of the title back in 2015 after making bad decisions outside of the cage.
