Ever since the fall-out between Conor McGregor and Paulie Malignaggi occurred, tonight’s mega-fight turned into a full blown soap opera.
Seen as recently as Thursday with Floyd, Paulie and Conor’s opponent hinted that the two have been working together all along.
Of course, Floyd having a spy inside Conor’s camp could be devastating for the Irish fighter, but Paulie hit the media following Friday’s weigh-ins and cleared the air.
“Listen, I’m gonna see my boy before his last fight. I was just going to see my boy. I went over there and said ‘whats up?’ We caught up. A lot of times I’m in Vegas he’s not even in town.
“If I know I’m gonna get to see him for a second, especially for his last fight – this is sort of a farewell for him – of course I’m gonna go check him out.”
Standing along side him, former UFC heavyweight Brendan Schaub chimed in and vouched for the integrity of Paulie.
Schaub stated,
“Paulie did not go into this going ‘oh, I’m gonna find out what Conor’s doing, snitch on him for Floyd Mayweather.’ That’s not how this even started.
“It’s all good man. It’s not like that.”
