Former UFC competitor Chael Sonnen has garnered a storied career through the years. From Anderson Silva to Jon Jones, the mixed martial arts veteran has fought against some of the best. most recently, Sonnen earned a decision victory over Wanderlei Silva at Bellator 180. The victory pulled Sonnen out of a rough submission loss to former UFC light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz at Bellator 170.
With a record of 29-15 that extends back to 1997, there is not much new ground left to break for the veteran. That being said, Chael Sonnen just earned another accolade to add to his collection. The fighter is now a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
A member of the Gracie Barra Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Association, Sonnen’s belt is certainly hard earned. Now only time will tell if Sonnen will continue to climb up the ranks with his practiced art.
