UFC lightweight contender Tony Ferguson has not been having a great experience with his press obligations leading up to this weekend’s UFC 216.
First, Ferguson had a confrontation with UFC heavyweight Fabricio Werdum at a media lunch. Now the lightweight contender has gotten into it with mixed martial arts veteran former UFC champion Matt Serra.
Tony Ferguson and Fabricio Werdum had to be separated at an L.A. restaurant after the two fighters began arguing during a UFC 216 media lunch. The UFC has since forced Werdum into performing community outreach with the LGBTQ community after he referred to Tony Ferguson by a gay slur during their confrontation.
In a recent interview with former UFC champion Matt Serra, Tony Ferguson got into a heated conversation with the mixed martial arts veteran. In a recording of the conversation that can be found below, Ferguson can be heard sounding somewhat irked by being in the interview.
Matt Serra immediately confronts Tony Ferguson on the matter and that is when things began to heat up. Serra was pushed so far during the brief altercation he felt inclined to let Ferguson know that he’d be rooting for Kevin Lee before hanging up on the lightweight contender.
