Kevin Lee Breaks His Silence, Posts Video Message For First Time Since Ferguson Title Loss

Prior to UFC 216, lightweight contender Kevin Lee was on a warpath for the championship title. “The Motown Phenom” was on a five fight winning streak, most recently having put on a dominant performance over Michael Chiesa at UFC Fight Night 112. Then, the fighter earned a shot at the interim title.

Tony Ferguson was near a shot at the interim belt at UFC 209. “El Cucuy” was set to take on top contender Khabib Nurmagomedov for the title, but the fight was unexpectedly cancelled as “The Eagle” was rushed to the hospital due to weight management issues. Following the fight cancellation, Ferguson was then set to take on Kevin Lee in the main event of UFC 216. This time, Ferguson got his chance.

The two lightweight warriors built a heated rivalry heading into the event, but Lee was simply unable to get a victory. In the third round of their match up, Tony Ferguson sank in a triangle choke for a title earning submission win.

Now Kevin Lee has come forward with a statement to all of his fans following the recent loss. To see what Lee had to say, check out the video above.
