The highly anticipated featherweight title fight between Max Holloway and Frankie Edgar is now set for UFC 218, in Detroit.
UFC 218 goes down on Dec. 2. The night’s main card will air live on pay-per-view.
Max Holloway will attempt to defend his title for the first time since defeating Jose Aldo at UFC 212. He defeated the Brazilian champion with a third round TKO.
Former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar has already made two attempts at capturing UFC featherweight gold. Both times losing to Jose Aldo. Edgar is coming off a dominant win over the highly-touted Yair Rodriguez, at UFC 211.
“He’s on a tear, he’s a young kid and he poses a lot of skills. Like you said, he’s very long, rangy, almost six-foot tall, he brings a lot of pressure on the feet and he’s very crafty off his back in jiu-jitsu, and on top. He doesn’t have a lot of weak areas, but I’m going to scout through him myself and go out there, put the pressure on him and make things happen.” Edgar said of Holloway while working commentary at a regional MMA event.
