Over the weekend, the boxing world’s heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua returned to action in defense of his WBA and IBF world titles.
And though the champion won, the stoppage has been called irregular, even slightly controversial.
Joshua looked fatigued in round 10 before the stoppage and his opponent Carlos Takam started to land clean shots. The two were exchanging and Takam was taking shots on the chin, but handling them, and then the referee stepped in and stopped the bout.
Official result: Anthony Joshua def. Carlos Takam by TKO, round 10 to remain the WBA and IBF heavyweight champion
