After weeks of speculation the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has now confirmed who’s next for female fighting star Paige VanZant.
Making her debut in the UFC flyweight division, VanZant is now confirmed to face off with Australia’s Jessica Rose-Clarke at UFC Fight Night 124.
Clarke made her UFC debut on last week’s UFC Fight Nigh 121 card from Sydney and earned a very close, some might even say controversial, decision over “Rowdy” Bec Rawlings.
VanZant hasn’t fought this year at all, and now she won’t. She last competed this past December in a losing effort to Michelle Waterson.
Paige VanZant vs. Jessica Rose Clarke goes down on January 14, from St. Louis, Missouri. The Fight Night event has no headliners booked at this time.
ESPN was first to report the news:
“Paige VanZant, Jessica-Rose Clark at UFC Fight Night on Jan. 14 in STL is official, per UFC.” said Brett Okamoto of ESPN.
