The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is in Sydney, Australia today for UFC Fight Night 121. The mixed martial arts promotion is hosting a series of exciting fights in the night’s event. Kicking things off on FS1, Damien Brown and Frank Camacho are going toe-to-toe for the Sydney crowd inside the Qudos Bank Arena.
Camacho kicked off the round with a series of jabs that put his opponent on his back foot. Brown retaliated with a straight right that seemed to get Camacho’s attention. Still, Camacho continued to walk down his opponent.
Brown then tried to take his opponent to the ground, but Camacho was able to reverse the takedown and pressure his opponent into the fence.
Camacho then tossed Brown to the ground, but the fighter quickly made his way back to his feet. Brown then got the back of his opponent and managed to get a takedown over Camacho, but Camacho sprang back to his feet.
Back in the clinch against the fence, Camacho pummeled his opponent with some strikes to the ribs before tossing him to the mat.
Brown shot back to his feet and quickly got his opponent to the ground.
Brown attempted to finish his opponent with a rear-naked choke, but Camacho resisted the submission attempt until the end of the round.
The second round opened at a faster pace, as Camacho continued to walk down his opponent. Brown countered a strong right straight of Camacho’s with a leg kick. The two fighters continued to exchange through the first two minutes of the round, then Camacho landed a nice right hand that seemed to hurt Brown.
Brown then returned with a stunning counter right of his own, momentarily putting Camacho on his back foot. Still, Camacho continued to dictate the pace as he let out a flurry of strikes on Brown.
With just over a minute left in the round, the fighters entered a clinch and Camacho managed to press his opponent against the fence.
The two fighters made their way back to the center of the octagon and Brown began letting off an onslaught of strikes that got the Sydney crowd on their feet. The two fighters ended the round with a high energy exchange that had the crowd screaming.
The final round kicked off with another exciting exchange between the fighters. Camacho took a big right hand to the chin, but pressed on with his own striking over his opponent. Neither fighter was willing to quit, as they each delivered damaging kicks and punches for the opening two minutes of the fight.
Camacho began landing longer combinations on his opponent, as Brown found himself on his back foot near the fence.
Brown returned with a combination of his own and continued to trade with the fighter. In the final 90 seconds of the fight, the two fighters continued to trade with a series of brutal strikes.
In the final moments of the fight, the two fighters brought the Syndey arena to their feet with a main event worthy war that will be hard to beat.
