Georges St. Pierre finally made his big octagon debut after nearly four years away from the sport of mixed martial arts at UFC 217. In the mixed martial arts promotion’s second ever appearance at New York’s Madison Square Garden, Georges St-Pierre put on a dazzling display in the night’s main event.
A former welterweight champion, St-Pierre moved up in weight to challenge UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping for his title. With a brutal rear-naked choke, “Rush” earned a stunning victory over “The Count.”
Moving forward, fight fans have a few opponents on their minds when it comes to Georges St-Pierre. Rumors spread of the new middleweight champion possibly taking on Conor McGregor, but St-Pierre has since revealed that he is contractually obligated to unify his title in a match against interim champion Robert Whittaker.
That in mind, another fight on people’s minds was a super-fight against reigning welterweight champion Tyron Woodley. Appearing on The Hollywood Beatdown with Tyron Woodley, St-Pierre discussed the possibility with the welterweight champion.
