It was only a matter of time before the trash talk caught up to Colby Covington. The outspoken UFC welterweight contender has been making extremely disparaging remarks towards Brazilians for quite awhile, but for the first time someone actually made him answer for it.
However, it was his post fight speech after his win over Demian Maia in Sao Paulo that really made him public enemy number one to Brazilian fighters.
Yesterday night a video showing an altercation in the street between Covington and former UFC heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum went viral. Now the details of whether a punch was thrown isn’t clear just yet, but the boomerang that Werdum had was definitely visible.
The UFC is currently in Australia for UFC Fight Night 121 from Sydney, so that would partially explain the boomerang, but how exactly did Werdum end up with one?
It turns out a big fan of Fabricio Werdum decided to give it to him as a gift.
“Fabricio is the best, number one!” said the fan as he happily handed Werdum the boomerang.
Take a look at the video footage below.
And the Boomerang Werdum used to hit Colby with was given to him by a fan pic.twitter.com/nZ8afHgHxl
