The UFC’s number #1 ranked lightweight fighter in the world is none other than the injury prone Russian Sambo master Khabib Nurmagomedov.
Khabib was pulled from his scheduled fight with Tony Ferguson after failing to make weight and being hospitalized in the process.
With his long-awaited return to the UFC expected to take place next month at UFC 219, Khabib has revealed that he’s gotten an early start on his weight management this time around.
Typically, with six-weeks from fight night, Khabib admits to his average weight being that of 190 pounds. However, Nurmagomedov has confirmed that he’s actually twenty pounds lighter and is currently sitting comfortably at 170lbs. That’s quite the jump from where he’s normally at.
For those who don’t follow scale-talk, Khabib fights in the UFC’s lightweight (155lbs) division.
Is this a good sign for Khabib Nurmagomedov heading into his return at UFC 219?
