Australian Police Issue Statement On Werdum, Confirm They’ve Charged Him With The Assault Of Colby Covington

If you thought former UFC heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum was going to get away with assaulting Colby Covington, and not have any repercussions, you were wrong.

On Thursday local police in Australia released a statement about criminal charges being filed against the former UFC heavyweight champion.

According to Covington, hotel security cameras caught more than just the brief scuffle that went viral, and as such, Werdum now finds himself in some pretty hot water.

Australian police did not identify Werdum or Covington in their statement, but you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to put the pieces of the puzzle together.

Here’s their official response to Wednesday’s incident.

A man will face court after he allegedly assaulted a man with a boomerang yesterday.

About 1.30pm (Thursday 16 November 2017), a 40-year-old man and a 29-year-old man became involved in an altercation outside a hotel on George Street, Sydney.

He is expected to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on Wednesday 13 December 2017.
