Going into UFC 217, Joanna Jedrzejczyk was the most dominant of all three defending champions on the card. Jedrzejczyk was hoping to beat Ronda Rousey’s UFC title defense record with a win over “Thug” Rose Namajunas, but things didn’t at all go according to plan.
From almost the opening bell Jedrzejczyk seemed to be a step behind Namajunas who stunned her several times before scoring a TKO finish at three minutes of round one.
The pre-fight drama and trash talk had been very heavy from Jedrzejczyk during the build up to the fight. In fact, she even went on a rant towards “Thug” Rose’s boyfriend Pat Barry. calling him the “biggest p*ssy in martial arts” during an interview.
Now a few days removed from her massive victory at Madison Square Garden, Rose Namajunas and Pat Barry are back at home enjoying the downtime. The former UFC heavyweight took to social media with a post summing up her big win at UFC 217 in New York City.
“Rose grew this tomato from seed, and planned on having one ready by the time we got back, with the belt!” Pat Barry said in a social media post. “THE CHAMPS HOME”
