In the opening bout on Fox Sports 1, Alliance MMA’s Angela Hill taks on ATT’s Nina Ansaroff.
Ansaroff, the partner of UFC bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes is highly touted. But, Hill, the former Invicta FC champion is a stiff test for anyone in the division.
In the first round Hill used effective moment and good foot work to keep out of range of Ansaroff’s strikes. The two ladies traded momentarily, and it was awesome, but a clinch would halt the strikes momentarily. Overall, an interesting round, neither lady really edging out the other. But based on pace Hlll likely the winner.
In round 2 Ansaroff came in with more urgency. A stiff punch would cause some blood from Hill’s nose. Both women landing good combinations in this round. Hill showing a more diverse set of strikes, but Ansaroff able to answer. With under a minute in the round, Hill opens up Nina’s nose as well. This round’s close, but Nina the likely winner, making this one even heading into round 3.
Both girls open up round three aggressive. It’s mostly a back and forth. With two minutes left in the round, Hill is able to land a flurry that seems to hurt Ansaroff momentarily. It might be enough to steal the round, but Ansaroff able to catch a kick and get Hill to the mat with 40 seconds left. It’s another close one. It will go to the judges.
