The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is in Sydney, Australia for today’s entertaining UFC Fight Night 121. The event is being held inside the Qudos Bank Arena and is set to include a series of excellent events.
Kicking off the night’s fight card, heavyweights Anthony Hamilton and Adam Wieczorek are going toe-to-toe on UFC Fight Pass.
In the first round, Hamilton opened things up with a series of leg kicks to his opponent. The fighter then pressured Wieczorek into the cage, gaining a body lock. Getting his opponent to the ground, Hamilton managed to gain side control. From there, Hamilton slammed Wieczorek with some tough ground and pound.
Wieczorek slowly inched his way to the fence while taking some damage from his opponent. However, the fighter was unable to escape his position on the ground.
In the final minute of the round, Hamilton allowed his opponent back on his feet. Hamilton let off a flurry of strikes that pressured Wieczorek back into the cage. Hamilton failed to get another takedown before the end of the round.
Wieczorek picked up the pace in the second round, catching Hamilton with a glancing head kick. Hamilton lost his balance and Wieczorek took advantage of the situation and gained the dominant position on the mat.
Wieczorek worked hard to get the mound position, but Hamilton was not making it easy for him. The fighter eventually scrambled back to his feet and Wieczorek retaliated with a few jabs.
Both fighters appeared to be slightly gassed, as the pace began to slow in the last minutes of the round.
Hamilton kicked off the final round with a vengeance. The fighter stuck Wieczorek with a jab, putting the competitor on his back foot. Hamilton quickly pressured his opponent back into the fence, gaining a body lock once again.
Wieczorek escaped from the cage and made his way back to the center of the octagon. The fighter began to put emphasis on his strikes, picking up the pace for the fight.
Wieczorek continued to move forward with his jabs, but Hamilton eventually retaliated with a powerful leg kick. In the final minute of the fight, Hamilton once again pressured his opponent into the fence. However, the fighter was unable to get the takedown.
